Educating clients, their families and support team of carers
Educating clients, their families, and their support teams the essential skills for managing physical needs is key to promoting long-term health and wellbeing. This includes equipping them to address sensori-motor challenges with personalised exercise programmes and helping them build the confidence to adapt activities or seek support when needed. By understanding the impact of activity habits on performance, they can make informed choices to improve outcomes.
Guidance also focuses on optimising the use of everyday environments to minimise the need for specialist equipment, accessing social physical leisure activities for therapeutic and motivational benefits, and embracing therapy options through a blend of virtual and face-to-face services.
We aim for clients, families and carers to:
- Have the skills and knowledge to manage physical needs – targeting sensori-motor issues with personalised exercise toolbox
- Have the confidence to know when to adapt and seek support – understand the positive and negative consequences of activity habits upon performance
- Optimise use of the environment and reducing the need for specialist equipment
- Access social physical leisure activity with therapeutic and motivational value
- Access integrated therapy using a blended approach: i.e. virtual and face-to-face
