We have access to a large, purpose built, suitably heated aqua therapy pool in West London but can also source other suitable aqua pools closer to a person’s home or leisure centre pools if the water temperature is not critical to their ability to exercise effectively in water.
Exercising in water may help with:
- pain relief and relaxation offered by warm temperature of pool
- reducing stiffness and the stress on joints and the spine through the effects of buoyancy
- water flow can be used to create assistance or resistance for balance and strength training
- learning to move more efficiently, effectively and confidently and potentially swim
