Rehabilitation during the pandemic for non-Covid patients using remote therapy
Owing to the current restrictions imposed on face-to-face physiotherapy consultations and treatment, our Milestones Clinic team have been using many varied ways to continue to support our clients while following the current government guidelines to minimise the negative impact on non-Covid-19 patients.
We are able to work within the legal, regulatory and professional frameworks that guide the safe management of our clients, the safety of the wider public and everyone working for and on behalf of Milestones Clinic.
We are successfully using the ‘virtual first’ approach with remote consultations utilising tried and tested digital platforms e.g. Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp and FaceTime.
Rehabilitation for Covid-19 survivors
Ongoing rehabilitation is also essential for many Covid-19 survivors helping people to build up their strength to reverse the decline from deconditioning, reduce breathlessness and reduce fatigue, manage pain and provide psychological support.
Many Covid-19 patients will have one or more underlying conditions and therefore a multi-condition approach will be required to effectively meet their specific needs.
We are therefore continuing to try and keep abreast of the emerging evidence and research relating to Covid-19 to enable us to effectively empower people to recover and build up resilience at their own pace.
Rest assured that as well as functioning as effectively as we can under the current guidelines and circumstances we are looking beyond these to the point at which we can once again operate on a face-to-face basis with clients.
We will undertake to keep you informed of developments in this regard as the guidelines and recommendations change.
