Lindsay is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
She qualified as a physiotherapist in 1979 from the Middlesex Hospital, London and started to specialise in neurology in 1981 at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London.
Lindsay has since worked at The Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Camden and Rivermead Rehabilitation Centre, Oxford as lead physiotherapist. Exploring her interest in interdisciplinary rehabilitation she worked for eight years for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, in one of their Neuropsychology led inpatient neuro-behavioural rehabilitation units. During this time, she also worked as an expert witness providing physiotherapy reports and recommendations for adults with acquired brain injury in medico-legal cases. This has given her a good understanding of the personal injury litigation process.
Her particular interest is acquired brain injury and vestibular rehabilitation. Her approach is patient centred, goal orientated and problem solving; she recognises the importance of working towards an individual’s goals, increasing their understanding of their condition, and of actively working with them, their family and carers in their management and treatment.
Lindsay regularly attends conferences, lectures and workshops, is involved in several multidisciplinary clinical groups, is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN) being a committee member of her regional group and is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapist Interested in Vestibular Rehabilitation.(ACPIVR)
