Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2003, Kim has gained experience of working in wide range clinical settings across NHS, Social Services and Private Sector organisations. Kim’s career to date has mostly been working within the field of Neurology and Neurosurgery; where Kim developed comprehensive and specialist skills in assessing and treating adults with highly complex needs and presenting with multiple pathologies.
Having undergone further training Kim has developed a specialist interest in the field of vocational rehabilitation, and is now certified to able to undertake Functional Capacity Evaluations. Kim feels that her specialist training has helped to underpin her approach and clinical reasoning to effectively support her clients with physical and/or cognitive impairments to access work related occupations.
Kim’s clinical time is focused on delivering high quality, goal focused rehabilitation for all her client’s. She has excellent skills in identifying physical and cognitive impairments; impacting on a client’s everyday functional performance and work occupations. Kim enjoys using purposeful activity as the basis for treatment and has expert skills in carrying out and interpreting functional and standardised assessments specifically for clients with acquired brain injury.
Kim has been working in the field of medico-legal compensation claims for the past 9 years. Kim has a good understanding of the challenges, processes and professionalism that is required to support her client’s effectively throughout their rehabilitation and litigation claim process. Kim works closely with her client’s allocated case manager and rehabilitation team to ensure that therapy is delivered effectively and efficiently to all clients.
Kim is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and Information Commissioners Office. Kim is a specialist and professional member of the College of Occupational Therapists and Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA)
