Lindsay is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
Lindsay qualified as a physiotherapist in 1979 from the Middlesex Hospital, London and started to specialise in neurology in 1981 at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery , Queen Square, London. Working there as a Senior Physiotherapist in both the main hospital and the rehabilitation unit in Finchley.
She has since worked at The Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Camden and Rivermead Rehabilitation Centre, Oxford. For the last eight years she has worked for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, a national charity in one of their Neuropsychology led inpatient rehabilitation units. For the past two and a half years Lindsay has also worked as an expert witness providing physiotherapy opinion in medico-legal cases of adults with brain injuries.
Whilst her particular interest is in working with people following brain injury Lindsay also has extensive experience working with adults with a wide range of neurological conditions. Her approach is goal orientated and problem solving; she recognises the importance of considering the person as a whole, of increasing the individual’s understanding of their condition and how this has impacted on everyday function and of involving them, their family and carers actively in the their treatment.
Lindsay enjoys clinical teaching and is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN) she is a committee member of her regional group and a member of the Medico-Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP).
